Little Learners Chelmsford
Little Learners Preschool is based inside ACL Chelmsford, on the Westlands estate, near to the city centre and can care for 19 children per session aged between 3 months and 5 years.
About Us
Our highly qualified, experienced and dedicated caring team work to generous staff ratios to really get to know the needs of each individual child.
Little Learners follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support each child to make progress in their learning and development in partnership with their parents and close family, as well as to keep them safe and healthy.
We have a large secure outdoor area, which children have access to throughout the day, with a large spacious garden that was created in Aug 2022, where the children are free to explore and play with the equipment, as well as climb on the large wooden fort.
We use the secure online software package Tapestry to record and share children’s achievements and progress in their own leaning journal. Parents can add their own observations from home and is great way of keeping in touch.
Our Team
We are a small, friendly and highly dedicated team, who have worked at Little Learners together for over 10 years and all have a wealth of childcare experience we have brought with us. We are all highly qualified with qualifications ranging from a level 3 up to an Early Years qualified teacher and everything in between.
The team take part in regular statutory and non-statutory training to keep themselves updated and refreshed in all things early years including paediatric first aid, safeguarding, special education needs (SEND), health and safety and food hygiene.

- under 2’s £6.50 per hour
- 2-3yrs £6.00 per hour
- 3-4yrs £5.50 per hour
We are registered with the local authority to offer free early education entitlement funding for two, three and four year olds, including the 30 hours of FREE funding for working families.

We cannot recommend the preschool enough. Our son was diagnosed as autistic when he was 3 and all the staff at little learners were extremely supportive during this process. Before and after his diagnosis they went above and beyond to help us get and provide the right support for him at the preschool. Without their incredible hard work with him he wouldn’t have achieved some of the amazing things he has or overcome so many challenges. This is a fantastic setting and all the children attending it are very lucky.
